Natural calamities and lawlessness have ruined the manuscripts worldwide besides causing massive destructions.
In order to save this 'knowledge asset,' Hill Museum & Manuscripts Library and Roshan Institute of Persian Studies, Maryland University, USA started the work for microfilming and digitalization of these manuscripts, Walid Murad, an expert on digitalization hailing from Beirut stated while inaugurating the training workshop of Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu Pakistan.
During the three-day workshop the work for digitalization of 2,500 manuscripts in Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu has started. Hill Museum and Roshan Institute are providing the assistance in this regard.
These manuscripts were brought from Delhi to Pakistan by Baba-e-Urdu Molvi Abdul Haq at the time of creation of the country.
