Gold closes at Rs 90,600 per tola

Gold trading was closed at Rs90,600 per tola, up by Rs10 on the local market, traders said on Monday.

The precious metal was available for Rs77,675 per 10 grams, up by Rs129 and $1,572 an ounce, up $1. Silver was selling for Rs1000 per tola, Rs857.33 per 10 grams and $17.81 an ounce, according to them.

Pakistan imported 5 percent or $418,000 more gold to $9.168 million in July-Dec 2019-20 comparing to the import of yellow metal of $8.750 million in July-Dec 2018-19. In term of volume, the country's gold import was unchanged at 23 kilograms this fiscal year as well.
