The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Monday notified an increase in weighted average sale prices of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) for consumers in review for February 2020.

According to the Ogra notification, the regulatory body increased RLNG prices for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) for February 2020 compared to January 2020.

All Pakistan CNG Association Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha told Business Recorder that per liter RLNG used by transporters will increased by Re1 per litre in Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

"The price of per litre RLNG used in CNG has been increased in Punjab and the ICT from Rs89.9 per litre to Rs90.9 per liter," he said.

The oil and gas regulator set the new price at $11.1975 per million British thermal units (mmbtu) for SNGPL consumers and $11.1943 per unit for SSGC at distribution stage.

In January, the oil and gas regulator had set the new price at $10.4822 per mmbtu for SNGPL consumers and $10.4602 per unit for SSGC.

In absolute terms, RLNG prices have been increased by $0.7153 per mmbtu for SNGPL and $0.6299 per mmbtu for SSGC.

The cost of RLNG at the transmission stage has been computed by Ogra at $10.0544 per mmbtu for SNGPL.

The authority has allowed SNGPL to charge extra $1.1431 per unit at the distribution stage.

The cost of RLNG at the transmission stage has been computed by the regulator at $9.6589 per mmbtu for the SSGC.

The authority has allowed SSGC to charge $1.5354 per mmbtu at the transmission stage.

These prices also include LNG terminal charges, transmission losses, port charges and margins of importers i.e. Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Pakistan LNG Limited.

The new weighted average sale prices of RLNG have been computed based on the eight cargoes imported in the month including six cargoes by the PSO and two by Pakistan LNG.
