Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally begins

Opening ceremony of Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally was held on 11 February 2020 at DHA Bahawalpur. The rally will start from Derawar Fort on 13 February 2020. Organized by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), the rally will cover three districts of Punjab, including Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, and Bahawalpur.

Commissioner Bahawalpur, Asif Iqbal, graced the occasion as chief guest. During his speech he emphasized on the importance of Cholistan Jeep Rally in promoting tourism in Southern Punjab.

Also present at the ceremony were MD TDCP, Mr Tanveer Jabbar, Sahibzada Usman Abbasi, Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rasheed, Ms Sumera Malik and other dignitaries of Bahawalpur.

Director Planning and Development DHA Bahawalpur, Col Mansoor Afzal, thanked the chief guest for gracing the event. He praised TDCP for organizing such an event and welcomed honorable guests and said that establishment of educational, health and recreational facilities at DHA Bahawalpur are being focused at priority basis. He expressed hope that the people of South Punjab will soon be benefitted by said facilities.

Rally is planned to be held from 13 to 16 Feb, 2020 in the majestic desert of Cholistan and is meant to promote Cholistan's culture & heritage and has now become biggest Motor Sports event of Pakistan. Defence Housing Authority Bahawalpur as always, has sponsored the mega sports event to promote tourism in Southern part of Punjab.-PR
