'National Demand Supply Cell' being established: Firdous
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that a National Demand Supply Cell was being established for coordination with the provinces to keep a check on prices of essential commodities across the country.
Talking to media outside the Parliament on Thursday, she said that the decision of establishing the cell had been taken during a high-level meeting in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.
Awan said that the prime minister had directed Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform and Ministry of National Food Security and Research to establish the National Demand Supply Cell.
He said that the meeting reviewed various measures taken by the incumbent government to check adulteration, hoarding and inflation in the country.
The special assistant said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had expressed serious concern over prices of flour in Sindh.
She said that the prime minister had directed the provincial governments to form National Action Plan within one week to check prices of various commodities.
