The former premier Nawaz Sharif's health could be at risk, if his angiography is delayed anymore. This was revealed in the latest medical report of Nawaz Sharif submitted to the accountability court by his counsel, it has been learnt.
The report, which consists of two pages recommend Nawaz's angiography as soon as possible, the sources said, adding: "Nawaz Sharif has an appointment with Dr Kazmi on February 24. Former premier will go for the heart treatment after consulting Dr Kazmi." Nawaz Sharif should be overseen by medical experts in the UK for treatment, report added.
Earlier, the Punjab government had rejected Nawaz Sharif's medical reports submitted to it on December 23 for extension in his stay abroad on the expiry of the four-week period allowed by the high court to visit London for medical treatment.
It may be noted that the Punjab health department had notified a 14-member medical board to solicit its opinion on the matter to decide whether to give him extension in his stay abroad or not.
On the other hand, the ruling PTI government had asked Nawaz Sharif to return to the country if he is well to honour his commitment to the court and complete his jail term in the Al-Azizia Mills corruption case while the PML-N had invited Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid to London to verify facts in this regard by herself.
