IT expo planned in Faisalabad
First IT Expo & Award 2020 - "Digital Faisalabad" will be held in April to showcase the IT-related achievements of Faisalabad, said Rana Sikandar-e-Azam Khan, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI). Inaugurating the web portal of Digital Faisalabad, he said that Faisalabad has made unprecedented progress in different sectors of economy in addition to excelling in textiles.
He underlined the importance of IT which will be a main source of job creation in coming years. He told that Faisalabad has 115 major software houses whereas approximately 10% freelance IT expert are earning 1,000 dollars per month.
He told that e-commerce was also growing at a much faster pace and more educated youth could be easily absorbed in this emerging and hi-tech sector.
Mian Muhammad Adrees, former president Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and Employees Federation of Pakistan (EFP) said that Faisalabad is the third largest city of Pakistan.
"It is also second largest contributor towards the National Economy", he told and added that during recent years it has immerged as a major destination for Information Technology (IT) outsourcing and production facilities.
