'Pakistani troops Pakistan’s best ambassadors': Indonesian President Sukarno

Indonesian President Sukarno, who was the first president of Indonesia, termed the Pakistani troop ‘Pakistan’s best ambassadors’.  “It was because of Pakistani troops that Indonesia and Pakistan came close together, they were Pakistan’s best ambassadors,” the president said.

'Pakistan number one to contribute for UN peacekeeping missions': Ban Ki-moon UNSG

Ban Ki-moon is a South Korean politician and diplomat who served as the eighth UN Secretary-General from January 2007 to December 2016. During his visit to Pakistan in August 2013, the then chief said he senses great confidence and hope in Pakistan. He further said that what overwhelmed him the most is gratitude as the UNSG and gratitude as a global citizen for 'what Pakistan and her people have been doing for international peace and security'.

"More than 100 countries contribute troops and police for United Nations peacekeeping missions.  Pakistan is number one.  It is impossible to speak about the history of United Nations peacekeeping without highlighting such contributions of Pakistan. I thank you very much," Ban Ki-moon said.

'Pakistani soldiers shouldered a huge and dangerous load of United Nations Operation in Somalia': UN deputy commander

Major General Thomas M. Montgomery, the then Deputy Commander UN Forces in Somalia, credited Pakistani soldiers for saving the lives of many US rangers who were surrounded by Aidids militants, after two US Black Hawk helicopters were shot down in central Mogadishu in 1993.

"We are thankful to the people and army of Pakistan for sending such splendid soldiers to Somalia whom we feel proud to serve with. Pakistani soldiers have been completely dependable even in the most difficult circumstances. They have shouldered a huge and dangerous load of United Nations Operation in Somalia and the Somali people," the commander had said in a statement.

Lakhdar Brahimi, an Algerian UN diplomat expressed his warmest and sincerest admiration for the splendid work the officers and men of Pakistani battalion did all over Haiti.

"It gives me great pleasure to express my warmest congratulation and sincere admiration for the splendid work the officers and men of Pakistani battalion have done all over Haiti," Brahimi said.

Pakistan’s military the only in UN history to perform honestly in Indonesia: Chinese first premier 

Zhou Enlai, also known as Zhou Xiangyu, who was the first prime minister of China, said that Pakistan's military is the only military in the UN history to have honestly performed its role in Indonesia.

"The only example in UN history, when a UN Military Force had gone in, performed its role honestly and came out was Pakistan’s Military contigent in Indonesia (West Iran)," he said.

Pakistani contingent performing great services to humanity: UN transitional administrator

Former UN Transitional Administrator Paul Klein appreciated the Pakistani contingent for its professionalism in Eastern Slavonia.

"I wish to reaffirm my gratitude and appreciation for the professionalism, the Pakistani contingent has displayed during stay in Eastern Slavonia. They are indeed performing great services to humanity," Klein said.
