Nawaz's mother leaves for London to visit him

• Nawaz left for London last year in November and his undergoing medical treatment.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's mother Shamim Bibi left for London on Saturday to visit him where he is currently seeking medical treatment.

In a tweet on Saturday, Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that even though Shamim Bibi has been advised not to travel, she expressed her desire to see Nawaz during his treatment there.

Nawaz left for London last year in November after he was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court on humanitarian grounds in the Al-Azizia case. The former PM also obtained bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case from the Lahore High Court.

Nawaz's personal physician Dr Adnan Khan also accompanied him.
