Nawaz's mother leaves for London
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's mother Shamim Bibi has left for London along with her daughter and son-in-law to enquire about the well being of the PML-N supremo. Shamim Bibi had been advised not to travel because of her advanced age and illness but she expressed her wish to be present during her son's medical treatment in London, sources said. Nawaz's mother is more than 90 years old and wants to be with her son while he undergoes heart treatment.
The PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb tweeted on Saturday confirming departure of Shamim Bibi to London. It may be noted that Nawaz Sharif was allowed to travel to London in November of last year for medical treatment. He was accompanied by his personal physician Dr Adnan Khan. The former premier was suffering from "complex multi-vessel coronary artery disease and substantial ischemic and threatened myocardium" for which he was due to undergo surgery.
As per reports, the treatment of Nawaz Sharif had been delayed twice because he wants his daughter Maryam to be with him during the procedure. The PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah told media after a party meeting here at the PML-N Secretariat that there is baseless case against Maryam Nawaz and her name be excluded from Exit Control List (ECL). "What can be more difficult than a heart surgery; we pray for good health of Nawaz Sharif," he said, adding "Maryam Nawaz should be with her father at this time."
