BUCHAREST: Romania sold a more than planned 760 million lei ($172.48 million) worth of new benchmark Jan. 2028, treasury bonds on Monday at an average accepted yield of 3.79pc, central bank data showed.

Earlier this month, debt managers sold Feb. 2029, bonds at an average yield of 4.17pc. On Monday, they had planned to sell 500 million lei of the 2028, paper.

Romania's finance ministry has sold roughly 10.9 billion lei worth of local currency bills and bonds so far this year, and tapped foreign markets for 3 billion euros worth of 2032, and 2050, Eurobonds.
