FPCCI voices concern over energy price hike
Vice President and Regional Chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Dr Muhammad Arshad expressing concern over price-hike of energy has demanded of the government to immediately reduce the power tariff for industry to enhance the country's exports.
He was talking to a delegation of the Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) that visited the FPCCI regional office here on Monday. He urged the government to prepare business specific policies to accelerate the economic activities. The electricity is basic input of the industry and the high power tariff add to the production cost, he added.
He also alleged that some government departments are involved in creating hardship for the businessmen besides harassing them. The FPCCI office-bearer assured the delegation of resolution of their genuine problems and said all trade bodies will be provided representation in the FPCCI activities.
