Citizens in Wuhan: LHC seeks replies from government, ministry
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought replies from the federal government and the ministry of foreign affairs on a petition for bringing all Pakistani citizens back from coronavirus-hit cities of China. Petitioner father of a student stranded in China said not only his son Sohaib Chattha but over 1000 other Pakistani citizens had been stuck in China's city of Wuhan.
The petitioner's counsel contended before the court that the Pakistani citizens had been confined to their living spaces due to the outbreak for the last one month in order to prevent spread of the disease.
The counsel contended that the Pakistani students had not been provided with adequate medical facility and food. He also pointed out that almost all the countries evacuated their citizens from Wuhan city and other parts of China due to higher possibility of spreading the disease.
He asked the court to direct the ministry of foreign affairs to also evacuate all Pakistani citizens from China without further delay.
