British Deputy HC visits SCCI
British Deputy High Commissioner Karachi Mike Nithavrianakis on Tuesday visited Sialkot to discuss certain issues pertaining to trade and commerce and matters of mutual interests with President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). Addressing the members of SCCI he appreciated the textile sector of Pakistan but there was a great need of tracing of new sectors for producing new products. We will be happy if UK buys more goods from Pakistan.
The Deputy High Commissioner said that heartening to note that a business delegation will visit UK for exploring the possibilities of expanding trade between the two friendly countries adding that visit of SCCI delegation will also help in B2B contacts. He informed the house that a business delegation will also visit Pakistan after the visit of SCCI delegation.
In his address of welcome President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Muhammad Ashraf Malik that Pakistan and United Kingdom were enjoying highly cordial and friendly relations since long. The SCCI President appreciated the support of United Kingdom in term of giving awareness to the world that Pakistan is now safe country through several measures including softening the travel advisory for Pakistan and resumption of British Airways operation in Pakistan.
The SCCI President further stated that we believe that there were immense possibilities and huge potential of joint ventures and cooperation in different feasible sectors which may be optimally to improve bilateral trade. Both countries should facilitate single county trade exhibitions and encourage frequent exchange of delegation he suggested. Ashraf disclosed that SCCI is planning a self-financed trade delegation to UK this year for which support of esteemed British High Commission is solicited.
