'Fata still deprived of basic needs despite huge funds'

Jamaat-e-Islami Deputy Chief Liaqat Baloch has said that people are raising questions that where the funds of billions of dollars received for years in the name of development of Fata has been used since the area is still deprived of basic infrastructure and health and education facilities.

Talking to a delegation of youth from South Waziristan at Mansoora on Wednesday, he said so far $34 billion had been received in the name of the development of former Fata but deprivation of the thousands of residents of the area were yet to be addressed.

The delegation apprised him about the lack of basic public facilities in their area, demanding the government to build road infrastructure, hospitals and schools to provide relief to them.

Later, Baloch addressed a sitting on the subject of "Pak-Iran relations and the challenges facing the Muslim world." Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust organized the event.
