The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Dr Zafar Mirza, on Wednesday said there was not a single case of COVID-19 (coronavirus) found in country. Chairing a meeting of COVID-19 emergency core group here, he said that the national action plan was being fully implemented to keep Pakistan safe from coronavirus.

Dr Mirza reiterated that there was no COVID-19 case in the country.

He said that a strong mechanism was put in place at all the airports to ensure screening of the passengers coming from abroad, adding, the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad, received a total of 89 suspected samples so far, out of which all were tested negative.

Earlier, Dr Mirza had said that four Pakistani students that had contracted COVID-19 in China had fully recovered now.

He confirmed that all four students had recovered from the virus and were discharged from the hospital in China.

"I am pleased to confirm that Alhamdulillah our four students suffering from coronavirus in China have now fully recovered and were today discharged from the hospital."
