Pakistan stands firmly behind China in fight against coronavirus: PM tells Chinese president

• PM once again offered to send a field hospital along with a team of doctors to China.

Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated on Thursday Pakistan's support to China in its fight against the deadly coronavirus and emphasised on Pakistan's offer to send a field hospital to the country.

In a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, the PM conveyed his heartfelt condolences over the precious lives lost due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Praising the relentless efforts undertaken by China for containing the coronavirus, the PM said that timely, effective and far-reaching measures undertaken by China were being acknowledged globally, a press release issued by the Foreign Office (FO) said.

The PM said that Pakistan stands with its neighbor in its efforts to fight and eliminate the deadly virus, and expressed 'complete confidence that the Chinese nation under the inspiring leadership of President Xi will emerge stronger and victorious in the aftermath of Covid-19'.

While speaking about the Pakistani citizens in China, the PM appreciated China’s special measures to look after them and expressed confidence that China will continue to take best possible measures for the welfare of Pakistani nationals.
