Two days ago a video went viral where a man visited the premise to be place a lock on gas meter in Shah Faisal Colony. SSGC has confirmed that the man is outsourced employee (from approved contractors) of SSGC who is responsible for disconnecting gas connections of defaulted customers of the Company.

In addition, the motor cycle and SSGC locks shown in the video was also the property of the Company and is used by the team responsible for disconnecting defaulters' gas connections.

According to spokesperson SSGC, the representative of approved Contractor Messrs. Aizazullah Pvt Ltd reached at one of the home of Shah Faisal Colony, number 5, to disconnect the gas connection of a defaulter resident whose outstanding gas bill was Rs19,308.

The meter was placed inside the customer's house, and upon requesting entry to lock the meter, the customer created uproar to gather the surrounding people to avoid getting his meter locked due to failure to pay the pending gas bill.

Displaying unwillingness to listen the reasons for disconnection, the customer proceeded to make a video by showing the bill of November 2019, which can be clearly noticed in the video. However, the customer had actually defaulted on multiple payments, leading up to the accumulation of Rs.19,308/- worth of pending payments.

Sui Southern Gas Company is a national entity working towards the betterment of the country and appeals to all customers to come forth and report such incidents to help the Company put a stop to this tyranny!-PR
