Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan demanded on Friday that Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhoutto Zardari and local leadership of district Naushero Feroze should be included in the investigation of murder of journalist Aziz Memon.

He was speaking on the floor of House after having a meeting with the representatives of journalists along with Minister of Prosecution Ch Zaheer Uddin on the directions of deputy speaker after a token walk out of journalists from the press gallery.

Chohan said the slain journalist had exposed the 'government of mafias' in Sindh. He said Aziz sought help from every government department. He also said that FIR was not registered even after four days of the incident.

He said the PPP chairman delivered written speeches in the parliament to please America and Europe. He further said Sindh IG Police is paralyzed and the Sindh government is not allowing him to work.

While criticizing the PML-N government, Chohan said Rana Sana Ullah, Uzma Bukhari and Rana Mashood criticized the PTI government because they know that their leader will not come again to the country.

The information minister congratulated security forces and law enforcement agencies for successfully holding Pakistan Super League matches. While responding to Chohan, PPP parliamentary leader Syed Hassan Murtaza said that the PPP condemned the murder of Aziz Memon. He also said that Bilawal Bhutto himself announced that the PPP is ready to hold judicial inquiry of the incident.

He said the PPP always recognized the struggle of journalists for freedom of expression. The party always respected the right of freedom of expression. He wondered as to why Fayyaz Chohan should not be included in the investigation after he said that Aziz Memon contacted him before his murder.

Murtaza said it is the PTI which is talking of putting ban on social media. He alleged that the KP government is the biggest hurdle in holding inquiry of Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit system which is the biggest scam in the history of Pakistan.

Earlier, while speaking on a point of order, Hassan Murtaza said the report of special committee constituted by the Speaker on the incident of police's misbehaving with the deputy speaker was not presented in the House. He also said the government was not ready to implement the orders of Speaker.

While responding to a point of order, Law Minister Raja Basharat said that till date no written application was filed for taking action against the responsible police officials, however, on the directions of the Speaker IG Punjab appeared in front of the committee to clarify its position.

He assured the House that report of the Privilege Committee should be presented in the House in 24 hours. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari said that government had promoted the inspector on the post of DSP who misbehaved with him and no action was taken against those who were involved in the incident.

Responding to the remarks of deputy speaker Law minister Raja Basharat said he wanted to explain while he was not ready to listen. During the session industries minister Mian Aslam Iqbal and Law Minister Raja Basharat protested against giving more time to opposition by deputy speaker.
