Turkish Pegasus Airlines to commence operations in Pakistan
- The Turkish carrier Pegasus will begin flights to Pakistan starting March 28, 2020 from Karachi to Istanbul.
- The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued permit to Pegasus Airlines.
Pegasus Airlines, a Turkish low-cost airline has announced to commence aerial operations in Pakistan, it was learnt here on Saturday.
As per reports, another foreign airline has decided to start its aviation operations for Pakistan, as the Turkish carrier Pegasus will begin flights to Pakistan starting March 28, 2020 from Karachi to Istanbul.
The development comes just days after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an visit to Pakistan, a number of trade agreements were signed during the Turkish premier two day visit to the country, the Strategic Economic Framework (SEF) was also during his visit, including defence, finance, trade, economy, customs, agriculture, banking and finance etc. Furthermore, Pakistan and Turkey would start negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) from April.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued permit to Pegasus Airlines. The Turkish low cost carrier will operate four flights per week from Karachi to Istanbul and Istanbul to Karachi.
Reports indicate that the arrival of new entrants in the aviation sector of the country will not make it easier for Pakistanis to travel overseas, it would also aid Pakistan boost its tourism sector, and can also be source of revitalizing the aviation sector.
