ANP President, Asfandyar Wali Khan has welcomed the announcement of ceasefire between the United States and Taliban after a period of 18 years and said that basically instead of two there are three parties including the government of Afghanistan.
In a statement issued from Wali Bagh, Charsadda here Saturday, he said that for first time, all three parties of the issue are expressing jubilation over the development that is good news for peace. The ANP chief said that since the very inception they were demanding new ways for the resolution of Afghan issue and inclusion of the Afghan government in the peace process. He said that it is felt for the first time that the issue is heading towards resolution.
Asfandyar Wali Khan said that peace in the whole region and particularly in Pakistan is linked with restoration of peace in Afghanistan. He said that the ultimate beneficiary of peace in Afghanistan will be Pakistan. He said that the announcement is message of happiness for all peace lovers across the world that they are even appreciating temporary truce and the people of Afghanistan are celebrating first day of the peaceful Afghanistan.
