A Pakistani employment recruitment agency will hire services of a large number of healths professional for their placement in Britain, under an agreement, signed with the MMC Healthcare Limited, UK recently. AFCO-Private Limited, Pakistan recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the MMC Healthcare Limited, UK. AFCO Chairman Ansar Farooq told APP that under the agreement more than 150,000 medical professional would be hired for the UK. These health professionals include 80,000 to 100,000 nurses, 25,000 doctors, 10,000 pharmacists and 20,000 paramedics, he added.

Ansar Farooq said these jobs were made available to Pakistani health professional in the post-Brexit scenario. Following signing of the MoU, an Overseas Job Portal was inaugurated at the Punjab Governor's House. The AFCO chairman said that the recruitment of medical professional from Pakistan was one of the 20 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), determined by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), a central platform of the United Nations to reflect, debate and create innovative thinking on sustainable development around the globe.

According to available data of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development, till March 2019, more than 40,000 Pakistani doctors were working abroad; 18,000 in the USA and around 6,000 in the UK and other European countries.
