An accountability court on Monday withdrew arrest warrants of former MPA Qaiser Amin Butt, an approver in Paragon City scam, after he reached the court in ambulance.
The court adjourned the hearing till March 06 as MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq was in Islamabad to attend National Assembly session. On two previous hearings, the NAB had told the court that Qaiser Butt had failed to appear as he was admitted to a hospital due to bad health. The bureau was then ordered to submit medical reports of the former MPA.
Qasir Butt had turned approver against former railways minister Khawaja Saad and his brother Khawaja Salman in the housing scheme reference.
On a last hearing a judicial magistrate had filed a sealed copy of the approver's statement before the court.
The NAB accused the Khawaja brothers of wrongfully gaining approximately Rs 18.2 million from Paragon City (pvt) Limited in their bank accounts. It said the suspects along with other accomplices cheated public at large and obtained illegal financial benefits from the funds of the illegal society.
