The Karachi Port handled 123,083 tonnes of cargo comprising 57,540 tonnes of import cargo and 65,543 tonnes of export cargo including 4,692 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargos of 57,540 tonnes comprised of 33,272 tonnes of containerised cargo and 24,268 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 65,543 tonnes comprised of 28,159 tonnes of containerised cargo; 30,350 tonnes of clinker; 7,034 tonnes of talcum lumps and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 4,692 containers comprising of 3,107 containers of import and 1,585 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 425 of 20's and 904 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 437 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 725 of 20's and 430 of 40's loaded containers while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were three ships namely CSCL Sydney, Diyala and MT Karachi carrying containers and tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were two vessels viz. Berlin Express and Botany Bay carrying containers currently at the berths.

There is one ship namely Senanur Cebi carrying clinker expected to sail on Tuesday while two more ships namely Berlin Express and Bao Grand carrying containers and clinker respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.

There are two vessels viz. Charlotte Schulte and Violet Ace carrying containers and vehicle respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while four more vessels viz. Edison, Al Mahboobah, Development Way and Jin Zhou Hai carrying containers, chemical, crane and clinker respectively are expected to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 183,749 tonnes comprising of 156,199 tonnes of import cargo and 27,550 tonnes of export cargo including 3,030 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 156,199 tonnes includes 35,180 tonnes of coal; 40,500 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,500 tonnes of palm oil; 12,500 tonnes of soyabean; 3,333 tonnes of project caego; 29,166 tonnes of LNG and 30,020 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 27,550 tonnes includes 27,550 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,030 containers comprising of 1,580 containers import and 1,450 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

There are four ships namely MSC Busan, Yangze Venus, African Tern and BW Denube carrying containers, general cargo, coal and diesel oil respectively expected to sail on Tuesday afternoon.

A total number of eleven ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, coal, soyabean, LNG, diesel oil, palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as fourteen vessels viz. MSC Antonella, Da Cui Yun, Silver Muna, Hercules, Akour-II, Nord Kanman, African Lion, Clipper Eos, Wembley, Sauger, Al-Salam-II, Tiger Glory, Melati-3 and Asia Liberty carrying containers, general cargo, coal, soyabean, vegetable oil, talcum powder, chemical, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were five ships viz. MSC Antonella, Maersk Kinloss, Akour-II, African Lion and Sauger carrying containers, talcum powder, coal and mogas respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There is one ship namely Maersk Kinloss carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely MOL Generosity carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
