Actor, host and comedian, Yasir Hussain has taken a stand for fellow performer Sonya Hussyn calling her a 'ustaad' of acting after famous drama writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar unkind remarks about Hussyn’s work.
Hussain shared a picture with her and beautifully captioned it.”I can elevate your caliber by how long you put up with being My Friend. So far you are highly excellent. Aur acting mai toh aap Ustaad hain from comedy to intense serious characters. You are one of the finest actors in the country. Keep growing.”
Recently, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, the controversial director of tremendously popular TV drama ‘Meray Pass Tum Ho’, claimed on a talk show that he had never offered the role of the female lead in the drama to actress Sonya Hussyn and nor did he ever want to cast her in the show.
Qamar has said that Sonya Hussyn is not yet capable of performing on his scripts. In an interview, the writer said that Sonia Hussyn was never in his book for any role in his much-hyped drama ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho‘.
Sonya had recently revealed in a web talk show with Iffat Omer that she was offered Mehwish’s character in the play but she had turned it down because she can’t tolerate women being shown in a bad light in dramas.
Sonya also revealed that she does not have regrets of rejecting this drama even after it got much success. “I took the decision after thinking a lot and I have no regrets.”
But Qamar refuted her claim and stated in a recent TV interview, that Sonya was making a false claim on being offered the role. He further added that it was impossible to cast her in the play because he would have refused it outright.
