Israr Ayoubi, PRO of the Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), has retired after serving the institution for 39 years. He joined the EOBI on 20th April 1981 as a junior clerk. He improved his academic qualification during the service and did his MA in international relations from the University of Karachi and a postgraduate diploma in labour administration and industrial welfare from the National Institute of Labour Administration and Training (NILAT).
Ayoubi was the editor of the EOBI monthly newsletter, "Sahara", which he had himself launched in 1986. He also edited the monthly magazine of EOBI Officers Association Pakistan, "Officers News", and EOBI Employees Co-operative Housing Society magazine, "Apna Ghar".
He was nominated for various training courses by EOBI. In the year 2000 he embarked on a 24-week postgraduate diploma course in labour administration and industrial welfare at the National Institute of Labour Administration and Training (NILAT).
During the training course at NILAT, the course participants visited under his leadership some top industrial and manufacturing plants and factories throughout Pakistan to study labour issues, working conditions, industrial disputes and role of the collective bargaining agent in industrial peace.
