Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the provincial government is facing a shortfall of Rs144 billion in the federal revenue transfers, therefore the development endeavours made all over Sindh have been affected badly.
He said this while presiding over three different meetings here on Friday at CM House to review ongoing district development portfolio of Matiari, TM Khan and Tando Allahyar. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, provincial ministers, Nisar Khuhro, Syed Nasir Shah, Shabir Bijarani, Saeed Ghani, Chairman P&D M Waseem, PSCM Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi, Secretary LG Roshan Shaikh, Secretary Irrigation Saeed Mangnijo, Secretary Works Imran Soomro, Secretary Colleges Rafiq Buriro, Secretary school education Khalid Hyder Shah, Commissioner and DIG Hyderabad division, all MNAs, MPAs and other elected representatives of concerned districts.
The chief minister said that his government has received Rs378.3 billion against its share of Rs522.1 billion which showed a shortfall of Rs143.8 billion to this date. He added that even then his government was committed to complete the ongoing development schemes and new schemes would be launched in the next financial year.
Matiari: In Matiari district 48 schemes of Rs1.6 billion are in progress. The finance department has released Rs929.6 million means 58 percent of the total allocation and the utilisation is Rs593.5 million which is 64 percent of the releases.
There are 13 schemes of Rs166.5 million against which 96 percent of the funds have been released, therefore the chief minister directed the concerned department to complete them by the end of current financial year.
In Matiari district the Auqaf department has started three schemes of Rs23.7 million, culture, one scheme of Rs42.7 million, school education, five of Rs312.1 million, college education, three schemes of Rs17 million, university and board, one scheme worth Rs150 million, health, one of Rs40 million, home, one of Rs15 million, Information, one scheme of Rs3.43 million, irrigation, five schemes of worth Rs237.8 million, law, two schemes of Rs27.64 million, lining of main canals, one scheme of Rs134.1 million. local government has two schemes of Rs84.4 million and both are of roads, minorities, one scheme of Rs2 million, PHE, seven schemes of Rs184.1 million, rural development, one scheme worth Rs10 million, Sports, one scheme of Rs20.7 million and works & service dept, 12 schemes of Rs290 million.
TM Khan: Tando Mohammad Khan District has 45 schemes of Rs1.1 billion against which the government has released Rs677.4 million which is 59 percent of the allocation while the utilisation is Rs441.2 million which is 65 percent of the releases.
In the district 13 schemes of Rs134.4 million would be completed by the end of June 2020 while seven others schemes of Rs209.1 million would be completed within next three months. The school education dept has launched eight schemes, home two, irrigation four, Local government 11, PHE six and works dept eight.
