Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Khurram Ijaz has said that Pakistan is a peaceful investment friendly country and a land of unimaginable beauty with untapped tourism potential.
A group of twenty six foreign service officers led by director of the Foreign Services Academy Muhammad Wasif visited FPCCI and held an interactive session with the FPCCI members.
The meeting was chaired by Khurram Ijaz Vice President FPCCI.
In his welcome address, Ijaz highlighted the liberal and investment friendly policies initiated by the present government of Pakistan.
He said that the government will promote tourism as a national cause to open country for local and foreign tourists as Pakistan is a land of unimaginable beauty and hidden natural wonders.
While speaking with the foreign services officers Ijaz informed that the trade of our region is in trillions of dollars, if routed through Gwadar and CPEC network will save billions of dollar logistic cost and time.
That's why CPEC is called the game changer for not only Pakistan but for the region.
"God has bestowed Pakistan with some of the world's richest natural and human resources and Pakistan's multicultural society and deeply rooted relations with all developing countries provide a great opportunity to the investors of all countries," he added.
Pakistan possesses a large pool of trained and experienced engineers, bankers and other professionals with substantial international experience, he mentioned.
Vice President FPCCI also informed about the economy of the country and policy requirement for sustainable growth under the changing scenario.
He also briefed on exports, trade pattern and how commercial activities were correlated with the law and order situation.
Secretary General Dr Iqbal Thaheem briefed the delegation about the role and functions of the FPCCI in promotion of trade and industry in the country, along with welfare of the business community.
The delegates were also briefed on investment scenario specially on investment and employment opportunities that would be emerging between China and Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The participants of the 28th Advanced Diplomatic Course held a questions and answers session with FPCCI members, including Vice Presidents Sultan-ur-Rehman, Zubair Baweja, former Vice President FPCCI Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Convener FPCCI Standing Committee Shabbir Mansha and convener FPCCI standing committee on Media and Broadcasting Usama Khan Warsi.
