On the appeal of minority students, Punjab Human Rights and Minority Affairs Minister Ijaz Alam Augustine on Monday extended the deadline of educational scholarships for 10 days.
In this connection notification was issued in which the Minister extended the final date for submitting an application for the scholarship, which was originally March 2. Owing to communication gap, certain members of the community requested for the extension.
The Minister said that through this scholarship program worth Rs 25 million, students of matriculation to doctorate belonging to the minorities groups will benefit. "The Punjab government is willing to provide all basic educational facilities through scholarships. Under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the provincial government is making all-out efforts to remove sense of deprivation and alienation amongst minorities and make them an inclusive part of Pakistan," he added.
