Parliam-entary Committee on Kashmir Monday briefed the visiting OIC Secretary General's Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, Ambassador Yousef M. Al Dobeay and his delegation on the worst human rights situations in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The parliamentary panel on Kashmir met here with its chairman Syed Fakhar Imam in the chair for an in-camera session, which was also specially attended by the OIC Secretary General's Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir and members of his delegation.

The OIC's delegation is visiting Pakistan from March 2-6 during, which they will also visit the areas along the Line of Control to get first-hand information about the losses caused to both life and property due to the India's ceasefire violations, besides visiting the Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Imam said that the meeting was specially attended by the visiting OIC delegation that was given a detailed briefing on the situation in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir where the lockdown is continuing for the last 200 days.

"After the August 5, 2019, it has been proved that Kashmir is an international issue. India abolished the special status of Kashmir and it intends the settlement of the Hindus in the occupied valley," he said, adding that the BJP has so far failed in doing so. He said that the current ruling elite in India is promoting hatred and minorities including the Muslims are living in worst discriminatory environment, adding that Modi is bent upon replacing the Nehru ideology with his fascist RSS ideology. He said that the international media has exposed the so-called secular face of the India and global organizations and world parliaments are strongly condemning the discriminatory actions against the minorities and the controversial laws.

He maintained that Pakistan, through its active diplomacy, raised the Kashmir issue on different global platforms and sensitizes the international communities over the BJP government's crimes in the occupied valley. He pointed out that the United Nations chief during his recent visit to Pakistan spoke openly on the issue of Kashmir and the grave human rights situations in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir due to which India was facing global pressure.

According to him, the visit of the OIC delegation is very important, as it will provide the needed support and encouragement to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the OIC delegation will also pay a visit to the AJK where they will talk to the people. He said that India is reluctant to allow the delegation to the occupied valley.
