The Karachi Port handled 118,915 tonnes of cargo comprising 88,885 tonnes of import cargo and 30,030 tonnes of export cargo including 8,811 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 88,885 tonnes comprised of 63,480 tonnes of containerised cargo and 25,405 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 30,030 tonnes comprised of 24,710 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,120 tonnes of clinker and 2,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,811 containers comprising of 4,092 containers of import and 4,719 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,439 of 20's and 1,093 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 233 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 544 of 20's and 506 of 40's loaded containers while 1,415 of 20's and 874 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were six ships namely Ulanga, Dolphin-II, Manet, Delia-1, BW Amazon and Ashico Victoria carrying containers, tanker, mogas and clinker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were six vessels viz. Seamax Ddarien, X-Press Annapurna, Cosco Hong Kong, Coral Star, MT Quetta and Chemtrans Oceanic carrying containers and tankers respectively currently at the berths. There are three ships namely Hyundai Splendor, Seamax Ddarien and X-Press Annapurna carrying containers expected to sail on Tuesday.

There are three vessels viz. Wieland, Bhairavi and IYO carrying containers, chemical and steel respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while four more vessels viz. Cosco Pacific, Express Athens, Ocean Spirit and Southern Dragon carrying containers and chemical respectively are expected to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 176,811 tonnes comprising of 136,132 tonnes of import cargo and 40,679 tonnes of export cargo including 3,260 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

As many as 3,260 containers comprising of 1,119 containers import and 2,141 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There was one ship namely SM Vancover carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while four more ships namely MSC Antonella, Marangas Sparta, Gas Zues and The Odoroa are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of twelve ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, coal, soyabean, chemical, LPG, LNG, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as eighteen vessels viz. SM Vancover, MSC Antonella, BBC Rushmore, Da Cui Yun, Silver Muna, Africal Keto, Sprule-2, Gas Zues, The Odosia, Wembley, Al-Soor-II, JM Upasan, Alcy One-T, Songa Opal, Tiger Glory, Mega-1, FCL London and Horizon carrying containers, general cargo, vegetable oil, cement, chemical, LPG, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were two ships viz. CSAV Tyndall and Maersk Seletar carrying containers respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Tuesday. There is one ship namely MOL Globe carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
