Amid criticism on drama writer and poet Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s recent controversial statements, the Geo Entertainment and 7th Sky Entertainment have suspended their contract with Qamar two days after he used blatantly abusive language against human rights activist Marvi Sirmed on a TV show.
According to the details, Private TV channel said in a statement, that the channel and production house have suspended a four-drama and one film contract with Qamar “until he apologises for using indecent language in a TV show”.

The channel said that it believes in the exchange of ideas and that everyone has the right to express their opinions and the culture of a healthy debate should be encouraged.
In response, taking to his Twitter account, Qamar said that he will not work with Geo for the ‘rest of his life'.

Khalil-ur-Rehman is under fire these days. First, he abused Marvi Sarmad on a live talk show; then lost his patience and hurled some highly inappropriate insults at her, adding to a clash between progressives and conservatives over the perceived objectives of the Aurat March 2020.
Many of them are talking about his disguised and disrespectful behavior. Nobody has any right to abuse women on a live television show, and for that, he must apologize. But Khalil stuck to his opinion, refusing to apologies to anyone.
