Speakers on Saturday paid tribute to women entrepreneurs for their contributions in the economic development of the country.

The ceremony was organized by Karachi Chamber's Women Entrepreneurs at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). The speakers shared their views about gender equality and the measures that were needed to be taken to create awareness among the general public about human rights and gender equality. Disassociating with the slogans of Women March, they said: "Although this is our March, we have to disassociate ourselves with the women chanting such rubbish slogans to make our movement effective". They also discussed the entrepreneurial opportunities for females and the efforts should be taken for laws advocating women rights.

Furthermore, they also informed the participants about the role of women parliamentarians in decision-making and the challenges being faced by them.

Supporting the equal rights for women because they are equally talented as their male counterparts, they said that besides marking women day, they had to join hands for collective efforts to help women reaching their full potential.

The government is taking concrete steps for women empowerment but legislative reforms for protecting women rights should be prioritized and new initiatives must be planned to safeguard women rights. They stated, "We have to support each other and facilitate those women who have minimal opportunities for growth." Moreover, they said that they were over 50 percent of the population of the country hence they were required to take collective efforts not only for women rights but to contribute in the economic growth. The speakers were Syeda Shehla Raza minister for women development, Ghazala Saifi, MNA, A Q Khalil, President KCCI Agha Shahab, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi MPA and others.
