At least nine people including driver lost their lives and 12 others were injured on Sunday when a passenger bus fell into a nullah in Arja, an area of District Bagh, Azad Kashmir.
According to Deputy Commissioner Bagh Hameed Kiyani, at least nine people died and several others sustained injuries when a Bagh-bound bus fell into a ditch near Arja Bridge. The injured were shifted to hospital in Rawalpindi. DC further said that four injured are in critical condition.
Rescue officials, after being informed, rushed to the scene and retrieved the bodies and the injured from the nullah and shifted them to the hospital.
Police said that the passenger bus fell into the nullah while taking a sharp turn in Arja area of AJK. Four of the 12 injured are reportedly in critical condition in the hospital, said the rescue officials. The police said that the accident occurred due to brake failure.
