The Cabinet is likely to take up the matter of appointment of chairman, Securities and Exchange Policy Board on Tuesday (March 10).
The meeting of the federal cabinet is scheduled to be held on Tuesday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair to deliberate upon an 11-point agenda.
The Cabinet would consider a summary of the Finance Division regarding the appointment of chairman Securities and Exchange Policy Board.
Presently, Khalid Mirza is working as chairman SECP Policy Board after restoration from the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Mirza was replaced with Masood Ali Naqvi as chairman SECP Policy Board.
Earlier, the federal government had appointed Masood Naqvi as chairman SECP Policy Board. Other agenda items include; presentation by SAPM on public interest initiatives; implementation status of Cabinet decisions; ratification of the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet in its meeting held on 04-03-2020; presentation by the Power Division; one time permission for import of insecticides from India; ban on export of protective equipment; report on re-organizing the federal government - proposals regarding executive departments and autonomous bodies; recommendations of the Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat for Enhancement of Quota for ICT domicile holders for jobs in Grade 1 to 15; appointment as general manager (admin) (BPS-21) in Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Karachi from Pakistan Army on secondment basis; appointment of chairman Securities and Exchange Policy Board; and appointment of director general Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA), Islamabad.
