The Karachi Port handled 90,894 tonnes of cargo comprising 46,777 tonnes of import cargo and 44,117 tonnes of export cargo including 6,048 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 46,777 tonnes comprised of 45,647 tonnes of containerised cargo and 1,130 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 44,117 tonnes comprised of 24,539 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,578 tonnes of clinker and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,048 containers comprising of 3,223 containers of import and 2,825 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,024 of 20's and 850 of 40's loaded while 11 of 20's and 244 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 588 of 20's and 404 of 40's loaded containers while 783 of 20's and 323 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were seven ships namely CL Sophie, Diyala, Kota Kaya, Horizon, Oriental Rose, Mandarin Eagle and Heilan Brother carrying containers, tanker, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Hyundai Vancouver, Botany Bay and Kota Kaya carrying containers respectively currently at the berths.

There is one ship namely Hyundai Vancouver carrying containers expected to sail on Tuesday while another one ship namely Botany Bay carrying containers is expected to sail on Wednesday. There are six vessels viz. OOCL Chicago, Diaporos, Cembay, MTM Hamburg, Fairchem Copper, and Yangtze Alpha carrying containers, tanker, cement, chemical and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while six more vessels viz. APL Thailand, Maple, Navig-8 Amethyst, Al Mahboobah, Sun Globe and Dolphin Star carrying containers, tanker, chemical, steel and general cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 211,739 tonnes comprising of 153,716 tonnes of import cargo and 58,023 tonnes of export cargo including 5,142 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 153,716 tonnes includes 19,175 tonnes of coal; 18,560 tonnes of mogas; 8,106 tonnes of palm oil; 23,250 tonnes of steel coil; 24,356 tonnes of pet coke; 2,300 tonnes of LPG and 57,969 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 58,023 tonnes includes 18,294 tonnes of cement and 39,729 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 5,142 containers comprising of 3,051 containers import and 2,091 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

There was one ship namely Jeppesen Maersk carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while six more ships namely Cosco Pacific, ER Tianshan, Sun Globe, Santos Eagle, Glory Harvest and Mega-1 carrying containers, steel coil, pet coke, LPG and palm oil are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of eleven ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, steel coil, cement, coal, pet coke, LPG, LNG, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as twelve vessels viz. Kang Que Ong, Unity Force, Nord Yucatan, Al-Gharrfa, The Odosia, Jal Upasan, Stena Imprimis, NH Singapore, Maple, Tiger Harmony, FCL London and Horizon carrying general cargo, coal, LNG, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were four ships viz. MSC Tomoko, Maersk Chicago, Tiger Winter and Al-Gharrfa carrying containers, chemical and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There are three ships namely MSC Tomoko and Maersk Chicago and Tiger Winter carrying containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while another ship namely MOL Gateway carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
