Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan, MJ Sikandar Sultan Raja on Tuesday just after taking charge of his office paid a visit to the provincial election commission office in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On the occasion, the provincial election commissioner, Sharifullah briefed the CEC MJ Sikandar Raja on official work, during which secretary election commission along with other officials were present.
The CEC was informed about review of electoral rolls, delimitations for holding of election in cantonment boards, preparations for the upcoming local bodies election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.While giving briefing about the official work, the provincial chief election commissioner, Sharifullah said there is insufficient space in provincial election commission building and also in bad condition.
Furthermore, he said owing to lack of election commission offices and strong rooms at regional and district level, the commission staffs are being faced with numerous difficulties.
On the occasion, the Chief Election Commissioner, MJ Sikandar Raja instructed that the PC-I should be prepared for plot which are available with Election Commission in any district wherein the plot was not exist for which measures would be taken in order to build offices of the Election commission there.
In this regard, the provincial election commission was informed the steps would be reviewed after one month. A meeting will be held in Islamabad in next week to deliberate of this matter.
