The Met Office Wednesday forecast a sandstorm for parts of lower Sindh, including Karachi in next 24 hours. The Met Office said another strong westerly weather system is likely to produce more rains for next 2-3 days, until Friday (March 13).
Karachi is expected to witness dust raising gusty winds on Thursday, as its temperature may range up to 18 degrees Celsius and humidity 35 percent. Weather is likely to remain dry over the next 24 hours, it added.
A Sindh government's handout said that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Rehabilitation Department will remain alert to provide emergency services.
The Met said that the new weather system is expected to unleash more rains in upper and central parts of the country through Friday. It said that widespread rain/wind thunderstorm with (snowfall over the hills) is expected in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Punjab from till Friday. Hail storm is also expected at few places during the period.
Rain wind-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) is also expected in Quetta, Zhob, Pashin, Harnai, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur, Ziarat, Kalat, Mastung till Thursday. Dust storm is also expected in lower Sindh including Karachi during the period.
