The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated an investigation into allegation of smuggling of surgical masks to foreign countries.
Sources said that the agency had started investigation on the complaint of Pakistan Young Pharmacists Association (PYPA) that 20 million face masks were smuggled out of Pakistan by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) Deputy Director, Ghanzanfar Ali Khan, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza.
The complaint has been submitted by General Secretary Dr Furgan Ibran of the PYPA. The sources said that the FIA Director Islamabad zone had sought a report on the issue within 15 days.
