Quetta Gladiators finished on fifth position as they down Karachi Kings in match 30 of the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five.

Defending champions only managed to win four games this season, their lowest ever finish in the competition history. In this unimpressive campaign, they defeated Karachi Kings and Islamabad United twice and faced defeats in both clashes against Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars. They also suffered a defeat against Multan Sultans.

Shane Watson and Khurram Manzoor took a part Karachi Kings bowling attack chasing 151. They needed to finish the game in 3.2 overs – practically impossible – in order to make into top four.

However, with equation ran out of their hand, they still manage to finish the tournament on a high by chasing the target with five wickets in hand.

Duo smashed all over the park and scored half centuries. Manzoor lost his wicket on 63. He struck nine boundaries and a six in his entertaining knock.

Meanwhile, Watson continued from the other end, as he ended up his campaign with a brilliant 65-run knock. He smashed four maximums and seven boundaries.

Azam Khan and Muhammad Nawad added finishing touches to the Gladiators innings. The scored 12 and eight respectively.

Waqas Maqsood and Arshad Iqbal bagged two wickets each, while, Ali Khan claimed a wicket for the losing side.

Cameron Delport’s half-century after winning the toss, led Karachi Kings to a respectable total of 150 on lose of five wickets.

The South African smashed two maximums and five boundaries to reach 62. Babar Azam, who is leading Karachi Kings in absence of Imad Wasim, scored 32 up in the order.

Other noticeable performance came from Chadwick Walton’s bat. He scored 26.

Naseem Shah claimed two wickets while, Fawad Ahmed, Sohail Khan and Mohammad Hasnain bagged a wicket each for the winning side.
