The Karachi Port handled 141,691 tonnes of cargo comprising 80,037 tonnes of import cargo and 61,654 tonnes of export cargo including 2,969 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.

The total import cargos of 80,037 tonnes comprised of 50,468 tonnes of containerised cargo and 29,569 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargos of 61,654 tonnes comprised of 43,834 tonnes of containerised cargo; 17,820 tonnes of clinker and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 2,969 containers comprising of 1,169 containers of import and 1,800 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,539 of 20's and 1,379 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 113 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 583 of 20's and 299 of 40's loaded containers while 351 of 20's and 302 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were six ships namely Cosco Kaohsiung, Altonia, Northern Discovery, Hyundai Dynasty, As Sicilia and Al Mahboobah carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were five vessels viz. Hyundai Dynasty, Ever Decent, Manet, Ubena and SC Taipei carrying containers and tanker respectively currently at the berths.

There are two ships namely Ubena and Greco Libero carrying containers and clinker respectively expected to sail on Tuesday. There are four vessels viz. Coral Star, Ever Ursula, Mayssan and Chemtrans Adriatic carrying containers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Monday while five more vessels viz. Oriental Marguerite, MT Shalamat, Amber-L, Nacc Poros and Grace carrying tankers, DAP, cement and clinker respectively are expected to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 122,382 tonnes comprising of 102,337 tonnes of import cargo and 20,045 tonnes of export cargo including 1,059 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 102,337 tonnes includes 27,371 tonnes of coal; 22,850 tonnes of mogas; 22,040 tonnes of palm oil; 30,000 tonnes of LNG and 76 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 20,045 tonnes includes 20,045 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 1,059 containers comprising of 04 containers import and 1,055 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were four ships namely Maersk Jalan, Star Anemis, The Odosia and Maple carrying containers, coal, mogas and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning.

A total number of eight ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, steel coil, coal, LNG, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as eleven vessels viz. MSC Meava, Annita, Lavrio, Tomson Gas, Georgia-M, Antartica, Al-Salam-II, NSH Singapore, Tiger Harmony, Tiger Tenacaty and Horizon carrying containers, coal, rice, LPG, mogas, condensate, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were six ships viz. MSC Meava, Annita, Lavrio, Tomson Gas, Antartica and Tiger Tenacaty carrying containers, coal, rice, LPG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grain& Fertilizer Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There are two ships namely APL Savannah and Maersk Pittsburgh carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
