Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures closed mostly higher on Friday on technical buying and short covering and as global equity markets bounced following steep declines this week. CBOT May soft red winter wheat settled up 1/2 cent at $5.06 per bushel.
But K.C. and Minneapolis hard wheat futures ended lower. K.C. May hard red winter wheat ended down 1-1/4 cents at $4.31-1/2 a bushel and MGEX May spring wheat fell 1 cent to finish at $5.08.
Euronext wheat futures ended slightly lower on Friday, as a rebound from a six-month low petered out while traders awaited further developments over the coronavirus pandemic that has sparked panic in financial markets.
