Sindh Rescue and Medical Services (SRMS) has announced to extend rapid response in wake of Coronavirus. SRMS has actively been providing operational support to the Government of Sindh for shifting Coronavirus victims. From 3rd February till 16th March, a total of 95 (82 suspected and 13 confirmed) cases have been transferred to different hospitals across the city by SRMS.
"Ambulances have been conducting controlled transfers of suspected and confirmed coronavirus cases. A comprehensive protocol is being followed for managing the patient, right from the very first minute the call is being received in our Command and Control Centre," said spokesperson, SRMS.
The ambulance crew is provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that includes a safety suit, gowns, head cover, N95 masks, surgical masks, protective goggles, gloves, and shoe covers. Moreover, a rigorous ambulance disinfection protocol is strictly followed each time a suspected or confirmed Coronavirus victim is shifted.
