The Karachi Port handled 177,915 tonnes of cargo comprising 100,379 tonnes of import cargo and 77,536 tonnes of export cargo including 7,107 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargos of 100,379 tonnes comprised of 42,327 tonnes of containerised cargo and 58,052 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 77,536 tonnes comprised of 51,847 tonnes of containerised cargo; 21,529 tonnes of clinker and 4,160 tonnes of loose bulk cement. As many as 7,107 containers comprising of 2,955 containers of import and 4,152 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,103 of 20's and 811 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 112 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,250 of 20's and 861 of 40's loaded containers while 250 of 20's and 465 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Folegandros, Kota Karim, Mayssan, Ubena, Daytona and Greco Libero carrying containers, mogas and clinker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. CMA CGM Medea, Ever Ursula, Folegandros, Oriental Marguerite, Hafnia Europe and NCC Poros carrying containers, tankers and cement respectively currently at the berths. There are three ships namely Coral Star, MT Quetta and SC Taipei carrying containers, tanker and chemical respectively expected to sail on Wednesday.
There are three vessels viz. Rome Express, Eastern Chemi and VTC Glory carrying containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while six more vessels viz. Express Bardsey, Utrillo, Smiley Lady, Nordspring, Rainbow Island and Marmuna carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 181,279 tonnes comprising of 127,131 tonnes of import cargo and 54,148 tonnes of export cargo including 4,059 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 127,131 tonnes includes 47,933 tonnes of coal; 10,500 tonnes of chemical; 12,800 tonnes of palm oil and 55,898 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 54,148 tonnes includes 4,000 tonnes of rice; 28,000 tonnes of condensate, 925 tonnes of sand and 21,223 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,059 containers comprising of 2,942 containers import and 1,117 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There was one ship namely Gulf Mews carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while three more ships namely Anitta, Antartica and Tiger Tenacity carrying coal, condensate and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, sand, coal, rice, chemical, condensate and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as nine vessels viz. Asphalt Spirit, Bittern, Gas Athena, Kazak, Georgia-M, Al-Salam-II, BW Danube, NSH Singapore and Horizon carrying bitumen, coal, LPG, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four ships viz. X-Press Bardsey, Asphalt Spirit, Kazak and Georgia-M carrying containers, bitumen, LPG and mogas respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely X-Press Bardsey carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday while two more ships namely APL Antwerp and Maersk Benoville carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday.
