  •  Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said Kashmir is an integral part of India.
  • He said other countries like China should not comment on matters that are internal affairs of India.

Rejecting India's remarks regarding Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) being 'integral part' of it, Pakistan said that these statements are a clear violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions.

Following the Joint Statement issued by Pakistan and China after the visit to China by President Dr. Arif Alvi, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar rejected the reference to IoK in the  statement.

“The Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India. Issues related to J&K are internal matter of India. We expect other countries including China not to comment on matters that are internal affairs of India and also to respect India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity just as India refrains from commenting on internal issues of other countries,” The Wire quoted him.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said that Kashmir is the oldest unresolved dispute on the agenda of the UN Security Council and the international community has recognised it as such for over seven decades.

The press release continued that the lockdown, communication blockade, illegal detentions of thousands of young Kashmiris, are a reflection of Indian obstinacy and disrespect for international law and human rights.

"Neither the Kashmiris nor Pakistan will accept India’s illegal occupation of IoK," statement said.

Pakistan also rejected Indian propaganda against China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The statement added this is another manifestation of India’s desperate attempts to falsify facts and mislead the world community.
