PSDP 2019-20: Government releases Rs 466.68 billion against budgeted Rs 701 billion
The federal government has released Rs 466.68 billion (66.57 percent) including Rs 92.74 billion foreign aid (72.3 percent) for various ongoing and new development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-2020 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 701 billion.
According to the latest data of the PSDP 2019-2020 released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms on Friday, the government released Rs 195 billion (65 percent) including Rs 12.48 billion foreign aid for development projects of various ministries, divisions and related departments out of Rs 299.57 billion budgeted allocation.
The government also released a total of Rs 157.72 billion (78.23 percent) including Rs 76.75 billion (84.72 percent) foreign aid out of Rs 201.6 billion for development budget of corporations; Rs 145.1 billion including Rs 68.26 billion foreign aid for the projects of the National Highways Authority (NHA); and Rs 12.62 billion including Rs 8.5 billion foreign aid for the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC)/Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO).
The ministry released a total of Rs 34.22 billion (76.3 percent) including Rs 2.77 billion foreign aid out of Rs 44.85 billion budgeted allocation for development projects of special areas; Rs 21.17 billion including Rs 1.94 billion foreign aid for development projects of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK); and Rs 13 billion including Rs 833.934 million foreign aid for Gilgit-Baltistan for financial year 2019-2020.
The government released Rs 38.46 billion for security enhancement against Rs 32.5 billion budgeted allocation, which is Rs 5.96 billion more than allocation.
The government released Rs 30.18 billion for the development projects of the Cabinet Division against Rs 45.986 billion total budgeted allocation, Rs 1.65 billion for development projects of the Aviation Division against the total of Rs 1.27 billion budgeted allocation, which is more than Rs0.38 billion of allocation, Rs 6 billion for development projects of the Climate Change Division, Rs 50 million for Commerce Division, Rs 1.36 billion for Defense Production Division, and Rs 7 billion for the Finance Division.
The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms released Rs 10.72 billion for development projects of the Railways Division against Rs 16 billion budgeted allocation, Rs 2.12 billion for development projects of Science and Technology Research Division, Rs 4.24 billion for Revenue Division, Rs 732 million for Industries and Production Division, Rs 232.4 million for Information and Broadcasting Division, and Rs 3.47 billion for Information Technology and Telecom Division.
The ministry said that Rs 3 billion have been released for development projects of the Federal Education and Professional Training Division out of Rs 4.796 billion budgeted allocation, and Rs 22.74 billion including Rs 112.19 million foreign aid have been released out of Rs 29 billion for the development projects of the Higher Education Commission.
A total of Rs 3.47 billion has been released for development projects of Information Technology and Telecom Division out of Rs 4.84 billion.
The government released Rs 6.29 billion out of Rs 10.35 billion for development projects of Interior Division and Rs 7.54 billion for the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division.
A total of Rs 19.9 million has been released for Foreign Affairs Division against Rs 29.77 million budgeted allocation.
The ministry released a total of Rs 52.73 billion for Water Resources Division including Rs 5.73 billion foreign aid, Rs 931.66 million for Planning, Development and Reform Division, Rs 58.5 million for Narcotics Control Division, Rs 229.47 million for Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority, and Rs 81.13 million for Textile Industry Division.
A total of Rs 251.59 million has been released for development projects of Defense Division, and Rs 8.167 billion for National Food Security and Research Division.
The government released Rs 2.05 billion for the development projects of the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA).
A total of Rs 23 billion funds have been released out of Rs 48 billion budgeted allocation under the Merged Areas (Fata) 10 Years Development Plan.
The government released Rs 9.683 billion out of Rs 24 billion budgeted allocation for development projects of Merged Districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The government has released Rs 5 billion for Special Federal Development Programme for Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) out of Rs 32.5 billion budgeted allocation.
A total of Rs 1.52 billion out of Rs 10 billion have been released for Prime Minister's Youth and Hunarmand Programme.
The funds are released as per quarterly ceilings; first quarter (July-September) 20 percent, second quarter (October-December) 30 percent, third quarter (January-March) 30 percent, and fourth quarter (April-June) 20 percent.
