Sindh government urges centre to stop deduction of Rs 3 billion debt servicing

Sindh chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has urged the federal government to stop collection of debt servicing from the resources of Sindh government until situation of coronavirus pandemic recedes.

Sindh chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has urged the federal government to stop collection of debt servicing from the resources of Sindh government until situation of coronavirus pandemic recedes.
The finance department on the instructions of Sindh chief minister has written a letter to the federal Secretary Finance to stop debt service payment in view of shortfall during coronavirus.
The federal government collects around Rs 3 billion as debt service charges from Sindh government resources every month. The Sindh government says that there is a serious anticipated shortfall in revenues in view of Covid-19 pandemic in near future and it would in fitness of things that such collection may be made until situation returns to normal and danger of pandemic recede.
Sindh releases Rs 11.2m for Expo field hospital
Sindh finance department, on the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has released Rs 11.2 million for Expo field hospital.
The amount of Rs 11.2 million would be utilized on the establishment Expo-filed office, procurement of necessary equipments and gadgets, proper care of patients and their food.
The cheaque of the amount has been handed over to the army authorities who would operate the filed hospital.
Rs 1m donation for Corona
An elderly person, 88, honoring the appeal of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has donated Rs 1 million in the Sindh Government Coronavirus Fund on Monday evening.
The elderly person on the condition of anonymity directly contacted the chief minister and submitted a cheque of Rs 1 million as donation for coronavirus patients along with a hand written letter. The letter reads as follows:
"Dear CM, I am a retired person of 88 years. In respect to your appeal, I submit herewith a cheaque of a humble amount in face of unheard and dreadful epidemic-kind regards."
