Saudi Arabia stops Pakistan from signing Hajj agreement
In wake of the spread the novel coronavirus pandemic across the globe, the Saudi Arabian government on Thursday halted signing of Hajj agreement with Pakistan. Saudi Arabia Hajj Minister Dr Saleh bin Taher Benten told the Pakistani government in a letter written on Thursday that there should be no agreement till the coronavirus situation is clear.
According to a letter received by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Saudi government has stopped Pakistan not to make Hajj 2020 agreement. He wrote that the Saudi government is taking measures to remain careful.
The Saudi minister said the Kingdom is closely monitoring the situation and will tell Pakistan about any updates relating to Hajj arrangements. The letter read that Saudi Arabia is concerned for the life and health of the pilgrims. The letter further stated the agreement will not be made until the situation in country gets better.
