CNG prices reduced in Punjab ICT

Spokesperson for Petroleum Division says in an official statement that there will be no change in petrol, diesel and other petroleum products' prices for the month of April 2020.
The prices shall remain constant as they were announced on March 25, 2020.
The CNG Association has reduced the prices of CNG by Rs9 per litre in Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) with immediate effect.
The new price of CNG is Rs84.50 per liter, which was Rs93.50 per litre.
All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) is in negotiation to reduce the price of CNG in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh too.
The petrol is available at Rs96.58 per litre after reduction of Rs15 per litre on March 25 for three month.
The CNG has reduced by Rs12.08 per litre.
The APCNGA stated that imported LNG has become cheaper than the locally-produced natural gas.
"Government should promote LNG and waive customs duty on the fuel, while putting a limit on local production to save billions of dollars," said Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, central chairman APCNGA.
Such a decision will help save precious and scarce resource of gas, which can be used in case the LNG price jumps in the international market, he added.
Ghiyas Paracha said that increased import of LNG will help reduce the price of gas without spending a hefty amount on subsidies; it will result in economical gas and electricity, which will trigger economic activity providing jobs to hundreds of thousands of unemployed.
The leader of the CNG sector said that the price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia will not end any time soon, and the LNG prices will remain depressed unless oil rebounds.
Ghiyas Paracha said that the local CNG sector was facing the brunt of the situation, sales had come to a halt and CNG operators were facing difficulties in paying rent and salaries of the staff. The government should reduce taxes on the CNG sector and announced a bailout package, so that the sector, which has attracted heavy investments, can survive, he demanded.
