PML-N devises strategy to help masses directly, says Shahbaz
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif has directed all the mayors and district chairmen to buckle up to protect the lives of their fellow Pakistanis and to start serving the nation with utmost devotion, dedication, and honesty, said a press release issued on Friday.
Addressing a meeting through a video link, Shahbaz said his extensive experience in serving the people tells him that this fight against the new coronavirus could not be won without the contribution of the local leadership. He said doctors, nurses and paramedics were the front line soldiers in this war and the local body leadership was a proud platoon of this force against the pandemic.
The PML-N president said that the PMLN had also devised a strategy to help the people directly.
Shahbaz said this meeting was being held at a time when the nation was faced with its greatest healthcare challenge ever and the country was at a crucial juncture. He said it was a matter of the survival of the entire specie for which the entire humanity needed to fight collectively. He said victory in this war could only come through the principles of unity, caution, and service.
He said the PML-N started its campaign and measures to fight the pandemic considering it a national, democratic and constitutional responsibility.
The National Assembly opposition leader said the greater purpose faced right now was of national sanctity and security and the PMLN did not want the nation suffer because of the "blunders, incompetence, and clueless-ness" of the PTI government. He said the party formulized a national strategy in line with the principles of Jinnah's life, which was approved by the entire opposition.
He told the meeting that, while explaining the criticality of a lockdown under the current circumstances, he also gave a comprehensive mechanism for the provision of food and essential items. He said that the local leaders needed to apprise the people around them regarding preventive measures against the COVID-19. These local volunteer leaders must also assist the provision of food, medicine, and essential items to the people.
